How we choose and check our sources

ParenThing’s support finder points separated and co-parenting families in Ireland and the UK to trusted, established services. We want to be open about how it works.
Where the information comes from. Every service in our library is a real, established organisation: a Government body, a statutory service, or a well-known charity. We write a short plain-English summary of what each one does, and only that summary is used to answer your question. The assistant never invents an organisation, a phone number or a link.
A person signs off everything. Automated checks help us spot dead links and services that have changed, but a person reviews and approves anything before it appears. New services are proposed, then checked by a human before they go live.
We keep it current. Links and details are checked regularly. Each page shows when it was last reviewed. If a service closes or a number changes, we take it down or fix it.
This is signposting, not advice. We help you find the right service. We do not give legal, financial or medical advice, and we are not a substitute for a solicitor, a mediator or a doctor. For anything urgent or about your own case, please contact the relevant service directly.
