A co-parenting app with audio and video calls

Updated 2 November 2026 · In the ParenThing app on Android and iPhone

Call the other parent, book calls with the children, and keep a plain record of every call, without the call itself ever being recorded.

Audio and video calls now sit inside the ParenThing phone app, alongside your messages, the shared calendar and shared costs. For separated parents in Ireland, the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

Calls with the other parent

Call the other parent by audio or video from inside ParenThing. Their phone gets a call notification, and you can talk things through without leaving the app you already use for messages, the calendar and costs.

Booked calls with the children

Book a call with the children as a one-off, or set it to repeat, for example every Wednesday evening. A child's call rings the phone of the parent the child is with, who hands the phone over. Children do not need a phone of their own.

A plain record of every call

Each call leaves a plain entry in your family's record: who called, when, how long the call lasted, and whether it was answered. That entry appears in reports and in the evidence pack.

Calls are not recorded

Calls are not recorded or transcribed. The record shows that a call happened, not what was said.

If a call goes badly, you can report it, as you can a message. A professional you connect, such as a mediator, solicitor or family support worker, sees calls only through a Calls permission that both parents approve.

Calls: calls are not recorded. While a call is on, our calls provider carries it, and it may pass through servers outside the EU. Our privacy policy sets out what is kept for each call.

Are ParenThing calls recorded?

No. Calls are not recorded or transcribed. Each call leaves a plain record of who called, when, how long it lasted and whether it was answered.

How do calls with the children work?

A parent books the call, one-off or repeating. A child's call rings the phone of the parent the child is with, who hands the phone over. Children do not need a phone of their own.

How many call minutes do we get?

Premium includes 1,000 call minutes a month for the family. A free trial includes 100 call minutes for the trial. The Free plan has no calls.

Can I make calls from the web app?

No. Calls work in the ParenThing phone app on Android and iPhone, not on the web app at app.parenthing.ie.

Can a mediator or solicitor see our calls?
